La Paz ->Mazatlan

This unique trip will offer both a multi-day/night passage from La Paz in southern Baja to Mazatlan on mainland Mexico, as well as some potential cruising at its finest through the islands of Baja. While this ~250 nautical mile passage would likely offer downwind conditions, the possibility of stronger winds will provide a great experience for anyone looking to have a proper offshore sailing experience. This trip is perfect for anyone who wants first-hand experience planning the logistics of a multi-day offshore passage. You're weather routing and night watch skills will be perfected on this one! Because the passage itself is weather dependent, we may need to stay longer on the Baja side, or cross sooner and spend more time exploring and enjoying this vibrant coastal town of Mazatlan.

Depending on conditions, Lintika and crew may have the opportunity to explore Baja anchorages of Cabo Frailes, Isla Espiritu or Playa Balandra before starting the multi-day sail to Mazatlan. Every trip is designed to give a generous window of time to pick the best weather for sailing conditions. This means that outside of sailing, a portion of the trip will also be dedicated to experiencing the cruisers lifestyle by snorkeling, paddle boarding, relaxing at anchor or exploring the cultural hubs that Mexico has to offer.

The trip includes your personalized instruction, accommodations aboard including all food and bev., safety equipment, and course materials. We ask students to board Lintika by 12pm the first day the course begins.

​March temps range from a high of 85° and low 57° in the Sea of Cortez, and a high of 80° and low of 59° in Mazatlan.
