OFFSHORE
PACKING LIST

Being on a sailboat in the Sea of Cortez in winter/spring means we are subject to variable conditions. The following items will make your time spent with us the most enjoyable. This is a general packing list but about a week before your trip, we can check the weather and see if we are expecting a cooler/windier week or a hotter one and then add and subtract clothing as needed.

🚫 All items must be packed in a collapsible soft bag
(Bags with semi-rigid backs are okay. Hard suitcases cannot be stored onboard.)

🧳 What to Pack for Your Sailing Trip

🪪 Documents & Essentials

  • Passport / ID

  • Cash & credit/debit cards- (Notify your bank you’re traveling)

  • Cell phone + chargers

  • Camera + chargers (if applicable)

👕 Clothing

  • UV sun shirts (long-sleeve recommended)

  • T-shirts & shorts

  • Swimsuits

  • Pajamas

  • Underwear & socks for the full trip - (We likely won’t have laundry access)

  • Two warm base layers (top & bottom)

  • One additional thermal/warmer layer (for cold fronts or cool nights)

  • Thin and thick socks (can help with fin fit)

🧥 Outerwear & Protection

  • Lightweight waterproof jacket

  • Hat that will stay on in the wind

  • Sunglasses and a spare pair - Polarized work best

👟 Footwear

  • Sandals

  • Hiking or sturdy walking shoes if you'd like to partake in hikes

  • We generally are barefoot on Lintika, and we remove shoes before going inside- so if you'd like to wear shoes on deck, a pair that slips on an off easily is best.

🧴 Toiletries & Personal Items

  • ☀️ Sunscreen (Important)

    • Mineral sunscreen only (zinc or titanium-based)/“Reef safe” labels can be misleading; mineral-based is the key

    • Please avoid spray-on sunscreen — it makes the boat slippery and unsafe

    • MyChelle is our personal favorite

  • Toothbrush and paste

  • Personal medications

  • Glasses / contacts + solution

Provided onboard:
Pillows, towels, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash

🌊 Ocean & Boat Gear

🤿 Snorkeling & Water Time

  • Wetsuit or wetsuit-style shirt (optional)

    • We’ll have a few onboard, but personal fit is always best

    • We’re happy to recommend an affordable option

  • If you already own a mask/snorkel that fits you well, feel free to bring it but we also have plenty onboard.

Provided onboard:
Fins, mask, snorkel, and all required safety equipment including a PFD

✅ Final Notes

  • Pack light and soft — space onboard is limited

  • If you’re unsure about an item, feel free to ask before your trip
