TRAVEL LOGISTICS

ARRIVAL to LINTIKA

You will be boarding Lintika between 9-10 AM the FIRST day the trip begins, which means you will need to fly in one day before the trip starts and get a hotel room for that night.

DEPARTURE from LINTIKA

We will always be in port the night before the trip ends, so you can depart Lintika ANYTIME on the last day of the trip, which means you can fly out that same day or get a hotel room to stick around longer and explore.

ACCOMMODATIONS

When possible, we have shared recommendations from previous alumni. But Airbnb is also an option in each location.

FLIGHTS

Keep in mind that flights vary a bit depending on which day you are looking at, so if you don't see a flight that looks reasonable, you may need to expand your search +/- a day.

Utilize the menu below to click on the locations you will be flying in and out of for your Cruising Course. Please note the menu only works on a desktop computer, and mobile users can scroll to their location.

LORETO (LTO)
⛵️ Lintika will be moored in Puerto Escondido about 25 minute drive South from the town of Loreto. If conditions are calm, the Captain may be able to make a last minute call to anchor Lintika in front of the town, which they will communicate to you.

✈️ FLIGHT DETAILS

LANDING IN LTO:

You will be flying in and out of Loreto (LTO). When you land in LTO, it is a very small airport. There is a stand inside near the bathrooms (across from the little shops) where you can prepay for a taxi. Have your hotel name pulled up on your phone to show them to simplify communication.

There isn't accommodation in Puerto Escondido where you will likely be boarding/disembarking Lintika, so you'll want to stay in Loreto the night before the trip begins. Loreto is a super small and from what we've seen, safe town. You can walk from the little marina, to all the breweries/restaurants/ and shops very easily.

For a taxi the morning of the trip from Loreto to Puerto Escondido, you can book a ride with Jose, who speaks good English and you can contact on Whatsapp at +52 613 104 1872. We recommend coordinating with your other crew to share the 25 minute ride south. When you arrive at the Marina in Puerto Escondido, there are bathrooms, a little market, and also a restaurant upstairs that is open almost all day.

FLYING OUT OF LTO:

For a taxi to the airport, you can book a ride with Jose, who speaks good English and you can contact on Whatsapp at +52 613 104 1872.

🏨 ACCOMMODATION RECCOS FROM ALUMNI

Hotel la Mision

This hotel is right across from the water, has a pool and a restaurant on the bottom floor. Our alumni have stayed and liked it.

Casa Del Mar

Alumni said: "Fabulous place with a pool and laundry facilities. They also offered bike rentals which I took almost everyday. Safe neighbourhood within walking distance to restaurants, the beach and downtown. I highly recommend it! Oh and it came with the cutest resident house dog who would visit every day. Very reasonably priced too!"

🙌 HIGHLIGHTS OF LORETO

This is the main "town square" in Loreto and has restaurants around it like El Zopilote and more. Basically everything around this area from shops to restaurants to breweries etc. is fun to explore!

Here are some of our favorite restaurants...

Pepeginas - at the little marina it is so fun to watch the fishing boats come in. Simple food but good!

Mi Loreto - Super cute dinner spot if you like Mole! A little more pricey but nothing crazy and very delicious.

El Andador - Another fav breakfast/coffee or lunch spot, it says temporarily closed right now but might be a seasonal thing.

LORETO
LA PAZ
LA PAZ (SJD OR LAP)

⛵️ Lintika will be anchored somewhere near Marina La Paz.

✈️ FLIGHT DETAILS

TRAVELING TO/FROM LA PAZ:

There are a couple of options for getting to/from La Paz, keep in mind that flights vary a bit depending on which day you are looking at.

1. Generally people fly in/out of San Jose Del Cabo (SJD) and take a shuttle to/from the airport to La Paz. Two companies offer this, be sure to book your shuttle when you buy your ticket as they do fill up.

2. The second option is that they just started adding more flights to La Paz Airport (LAP), but the hitch is that they only run a few days a week. So this will take a little more investigation, Blue can help if you'd like, just let her know what airport you'll be flying out of and how much leeway you have in terms of timing before/after your trip.

Hostel Bermejo

Alumni said: “Really fabulous! Super convenient to the Marina too, close to beer and great tacos. Friendly peeps and breakfast.”

Seven Crown La Paz Malecon

Alumni said: “Clean, convenient and they had a great roof top breakfast place. Everything was good but it was a little loud at night because it's on the main strip. Short walk to the boat but not too bad.”

🙌 HIGHLIGHTS OF LA PAZ

You can check out our cruising guide for the Southern Sea of Cortez, especially the part about La Paz which includes a bunch of fun things to do in the area!

MAZATLAN
MAZATLAN (MZT)

⛵️ Lintika will be anchored somewhere in this public anchorage.

✈️ FLIGHT DETAILS

TRAVELING TO/FROM MAZATLAN (MZT)

You will be flying into Mazatlan (MZT). Getting a taxi from the MZT airport is super easy because you walk out and they are just all lined up, you may even be prompted to wait in a queue. Be sure to have a screenshot of your hotel name pulled up on your phone for when you arrive, so you can show this to your Taxi Driver.

Getting a taxi to MZT from anywhere in the city is easy, and your Captain or hotel can help you get a ride the day of.

🏨 ACCOMMODATION RECCOS FROM ALUMNI

We don’t have any Alumni feedback on accommodations in Mazatlan yet, but can point you in the direction of this artsy part of town around a big town square with restaurants, shops, etc. We’ve eaten at this hotel (Raices de Mar) on the square, so would recommend checking them out or others in the area that fit your price range. It’s a great area to walk around the day you arrive and a short taxi ride to the anchorage.

🙌 HIGHLIGHTS OF MAZATLAN

One cool thing we did in Mazatlan was go to the Observatory which has a beautiful view, fun to walk around, learn about history, and see the iguanas and parrots in the aviary. There is also a bar/restaurant that has good food. They may also offer a Mezcal tasting.

This is also the time of year when Carnival is happening so exploring the Malecon means a lot of art and action!

LA CRUZ
LA CRUZ (PVR)

⛵️ Lintika will be located at the Marina Riviera Nayarit at La Cruz.

✈️ FLIGHT DETAILS

TRAVELING TO/FROM LA CRUZ (PVR)

You will fly in/out of Puerto Vallarta (PVR), which is about a 40 minute taxi to La Cruz Hunacaxtle. Taxi's at the airport are plentiful, or your Captain or hotel can help you get a ride back to PVR the day of your flight.

La Cruz Inn

For something fancier, check out the beachfront Bungalows at Simply Baku.

🙌 HIGHLIGHTS OF LA CRUZ GREATER REGION

La Cruz doesn't have a ton going on but it's a big cruisers hub. There's bar that some cruisers opened called Lustys on Land that has live music basically every night and full of Cruisers.

And this time of the year is when people are preparing to start crossing the Pacific from La Cruz so last year there were a couple talks/seminars they were holding at the Marina.

Also a cool farmers market on the pier by the Marina Riviera, usually on Sunday- great food, art, clothes, music, etc!

Bucerias is a real fun spot for bars, music, shops, and hanging out.

Sayulita is also a very fun day trip/party town, and just North of there is a quieter San Pancho to explore.

SAN CARLOS
SAN CARLOS (HMO)

⛵️ Lintika will be located at Marina San Carlos.

✈️ FLIGHT DETAILS

TRAVELING TO/FROM SAN CARLOS (HMO)

You will fly in/out of Hermosillo (HMO), which is about a 1 hour and 45 minute taxi to San Carlos. Your Captain will help you organize a taxi to/from the airport, and have you ride share with other students if possible.
